I went to college for photography, but it wasn't until I had my first child that I truly understood the value of family portraiture. I've always loved looking at and taking photos, even as a child. Now I am seeing the world through a mother's eyes as well. I started HeartStrings Photography with a redefined appreciation for my craft and a passion for capturing the moments between families and children that define who we are and who we will become.
I would not classify myself as an expert at anything but a perpetual student of most things…though what I bring to Heartstrings is a strong and demonstrated experience in business management and acumen. I am a believer that hard work, dedication, treating people fairly and listening to the customer’s needs and wants are the keys to running a successful business. I have over 20 years in management that included operations posting annual sales as high as 70 million with as many as 400 people down to as few as 2. I have been in the trenches of the start-up of several successful small businesses including my own fitness business currently located in Hamilton, NY. I recently partnered with Cassandra and HeartStrings because I could see the intense passion she brings to the art of photography as well as the obvious talent. That passion is not always present in business but is an enormous asset and a real gem when it is. My experience has shown me that passion and talent mixed with good business practices is a winning recipe. I snapped at the chance to join forces with her in launching HeartStrings Photography. I am confident HeartStrings will provide a service that is likely to raise the bar.
Not only am I fortunate to co-own and operate the fitness business with my Fiancee’, Cory, but I get to teach there as well, another practice I find personally rewarding. Cory and I are team instructors with a passion for fitness and dance and helping others find a smile on a daily basis. Oh, and by the way we would never call it work…it’s just way too fun. Outside of that I enjoy spending time with family and the outdoors or some combination of the two. My goal in life is to leave a legacy that helping others find a smile is always worth our time. Capturing life’s precious moments by photography fits right into that mantra.
